The short version: TriPoint Academy keeps your work on your own devices. We don't require an account, we don't run ads or analytics, and we don't sell your data. If you connect to the optional companion, only basic server logs are recorded — never your study content.
1. Who we are
TriPoint Academy is developed by TriPoint LLC. This policy covers the TriPoint Academy mobile app (Apple App Store, Bundle ID com.tripointmfg.mobile) and the companion desktop app for Windows and macOS. Questions: paul@tripointmfg.com.
2. Data we store — and where it stays
The app stores the following locally on your device only:
- Your work — notes, whiteboard content, 3D designs, and projects you create
- Study material — question banks, flashcards, and progress you import or build
- App preferences — theme, goal/countdown date, and display options
- Game progress — scores and non-monetary, non-transferable Game Center credits
This data is not transmitted to TriPoint LLC. It exists only on the device where you created it.
3. The optional companion connection
The mobile app can connect to a TriPoint Academy companion to view study content. You choose one of two:
- Hosted companion at
https://tripoint.academy— reached over a secure HTTPS connection so it works anywhere. - Your own desktop app on your local Wi‑Fi network — traffic stays inside your network.
When you connect to the hosted companion, our server records only standard technical logs (IP address, timestamp, and the request made) for security and reliability. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal study content through this connection, and there is no account or login. The connection is optional — all core study and game features work fully offline.
4. Camera & Augmented Reality
Optional Augmented Reality (AR) features use your device’s camera to overlay 3D content on your surroundings. When you open an AR feature:
- The camera feed is processed live, entirely on your device, only to render the AR view.
- Images, video, and audio are never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- iOS asks for Camera (and, where used, Microphone) permission the first time. You may decline, and everything else keeps working.
5. What we do NOT collect
- No name, email, or account credentials (there are no accounts)
- No advertising identifiers, tracking pixels, cookies, or web beacons
- No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
- No access to your contacts, photos, or precise location. Camera/microphone are used only for on-device AR (section 4)
6. Distribution platforms
TriPoint Academy is distributed through the Apple App Store and may be offered on Google Play and as a direct download. Those platforms may collect their own standard diagnostic, crash, and purchase data under their own policies, independent of TriPoint LLC — see Apple’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy.
7. Audience & children’s privacy
TriPoint Academy is a general-audience learning and creativity app for students, hobbyists, makers, families, and creators of all kinds. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone — including children — there is nothing to collect, retain, or delete. The app’s App Store age rating reflects mild cartoon/fantasy elements in some of its games; parents can review the rating before installing.
8. Your control over your data
Because everything is stored locally, you have full control at all times:
- Delete all app data — uninstall the app from your device.
- Export your work — use the desktop app’s export features to save your files.
- Reset preferences — clear settings within the app.
There is no account to delete and no server-side personal data to request, because we hold none.
9. Security
App data lives in the app’s sandboxed container, protected by your operating system’s standard at-rest encryption (device passcode / Face ID / Touch ID on iOS). The hosted companion connection uses HTTPS (TLS). A local desktop connection runs over your private network — use it on trusted home or office Wi‑Fi.
10. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we will change the effective date above and, for material changes, note it in an app update. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using TriPoint Academy (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is licensed, not sold, to you by TriPoint LLC (“we”, “us”).
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal or internal business use, in accordance with the usage rules of the app store you obtained it from.
3. Restrictions
- Do not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, or sublicense the App.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Do not use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulation.
4. Your content
You own the notes, designs, projects, and other content you create in the App. Because that content stays on your device, you are responsible for backing it up. We claim no ownership over it.
5. Educational & informational use
The App’s study tools, calculators, simulations, and reference material are provided for learning and informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional, engineering, legal, financial, medical, or other expert judgment, and must not be relied upon as the sole basis for any real-world decision. Always verify results independently.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TriPoint LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for it (which, for the free App, is zero).
8. Apple App Store — additional terms
If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:
- This agreement is between you and TriPoint LLC only, not with Apple; Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- To the extent permitted by law, any product warranty claim, and any claim that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, is our responsibility, not Apple’s.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
9. Google Play & other stores
If you obtained the App through Google Play or another distributor, that platform’s terms and usage rules also apply, and those parties are not responsible for the App.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which TriPoint LLC is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms; the effective date above will change and material updates may be noted in an app update. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
